FMC Agricultural Solutions Appoints Two Category Portfolio Managers in Marketing Reorganization

Flavio Centola and Rick Ekins take on expanded responsibilities with focus on active ingredient managment across all crops.

PHILADELPHIA, May 11, 2017 – FMC Agricultural Solutions has reorganized its marketing organization from a crop segment structure to a product category structure to enhance global alignment and maximize active ingredient penetration across all crop segments. As part of the reorganization, veteran FMC marketers Flavio Centola and Rick Ekins were appointed category portfolio managers.

Flavio Centola has been promoted from soybean segment manager to herbicide portfolio manager. Centola will be responsible for the full line of FMC agricultural herbicide products in the U.S. He will also manage the introduction of new herbicide active ingredients in the FMC product pipeline. Centola joined FMC in 2005 and has worked in multiple sales and marketing roles in Brazil and the U.S. He graduated from the University of São Paulo and is an MBA candidate in The Wharton School of Business.

Rick Ekins, formerly fungicide and insecticide portfolio manager, is now portfolio manager for insecticides, fungicides, plant health and new technologies in the U.S. In this expanded role, Ekins will manage the full line of FMC insecticide and fungicide products as well as the company’s plant health and new technologies platforms. In addition, Ekins will lead the introduction of new insecticide, fungicide and plant health active ingredients as well as other new technologies. In a 17-year career with FMC, Ekins has held a wide range of marketing and sales roles across all FMC pest control businesses. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.

“Moving to a product category focused organization provides a more holistic view with a strong life cycle approach to active ingredient management. This will be critical as we grow our business and successfully launch an outstanding line of new products in the future,” says Christina Coen, marketing director, U.S. and Canada. “The range of experience Rick and Flavio bring to these positions will enhance our tactical execution and strategic planning for existing and new active ingredients across all crops.”
