FMC Expands Label for Beleaf® Insecticide in California

PHILADELPHIA – May 16, 2013 – FMC Agricultural Products has expanded the label for Beleaf® insecticide to include low-growing berries and strawberries. This label addition provides California growers with a fast-acting insecticide to control yield-robbing pests.

“Beleaf offers growers a flexible and fast-acting insecticide for their strawberry crop,” said David Davies, FMC Agricultural Products North America product manager. “It’s soft on beneficial insects and extremely effective on piercing and sucking pests.”

The active ingredient of Beleaf is different from other major classes of insecticides. Its translaminar activity controls pests on contact and ingestion, stopping insects from feeding within 30 minutes after application.

“Beleaf insecticide offers a new mode of action that specifically targets Lygus and aphids in strawberries,” said Mac Learned, FMC Agricultural Products North America regional technical sales lead. “Beleaf is an excellent tool for managing insect resistance.”
