FMC Provides Online Training for Protecting Corn Against Pests, Threat of Bt Resistance

PHILADELPHIA – FMC Corporation is helping to educate growers, retailers and crop consultants on the importance of protecting corn against pests and the threat of corn rootworm resistance to Bt through its CropPro™ University Training Module, featuring Capture® LFR® insecticide. Due to high demand for this training FMC has extended the training module for growers through March 8, 2013. Participants have the opportunity to complete the training module for .5 continuing education unit (CEU) credits and a $25 Cabela’s® gift card.

“The training module is intended to show the importance of managing corn rootworm resistance with an integrated approach and protecting corn from seed and seedling pests,” said Adam Prestegord, FMC Agricultural Products North America product manager. “Within the module, viewers learn how Capture LFR creates greater and healthier plant stands, leading to potential yield increases.”

The FMC CropPro Training Module platform offers retailers and growers the convenience of online training, allowing them to save on registration fees and travel costs typically associated with professional development. The training also provides an in-depth look at the value of using a liquid insecticide, such as Capture LFR.

Capture LFR insecticide is a unique at-plant, liquid insecticide that has been proven to significantly increase corn yields. It works by eliminating soil pests before they ingest (bite and damage) Bt or seed-treated crops. Without seed injury, seedlings develop truly robust root systems and strong stands that transfer more yield-producing energy.
