Capture® LiquidReady™ System

The LiquidReady™ system:
Advanced Control for Soil Insect Problems

The Right Insecticide

Capture® LFR™ insecticide is the first liquid at-plant insecticide to combine convenience with cost-effective, broader-spectrum, longer-residual control of corn rootworms and key soil pests that attack seedling corn. The Capture LiquidReady™ system is the fast, convenient, accurate and efficient corn rootworm and seed/seedling pest control assuring healthy, high-yielding corn plants. There are no bags to dispose of and there is reduced exposure to the product. Plus, one gallon of Capture LFR treats more acres than several bags of granular insecticide.

The Right Time

The best way to protect your investment and ultimately your crop yields from insects is to create a long-lasting pest-free root zone surrounding the seed from the moment the seed contacts the soil. Using the Capture LiquidReady system at planting is the right time to achieve maximum insect protection against a broad spectrum of corn rootworms and seed/seedling pests.

The LiquidReady system coats the seed and surrounding area to create a large pest-protection zone for roots to grow into. And Capture LFR provides a broader-spectrum of protection than any seed treatment or transgenic insect trait alone can provide.

Capture LFR also has extended residual activity so it remains in the root zone throughout the critical stages when corn plants need protection most, allowing roots to grow strong to support healthy high-yielding corn plants.

Components

The Capture LFR LiquidReady system is the most accurate, convenient and easy to use insecticide application equipment available. The equipment is designed to meet the demands of today's fast paced planting season allowing you to plant more acres, faster and more efficiently than ever before. The liquid application system is manufactured by Raven Industries, the leader in planting-time flow control systems.

The System Control Console

  • This serves as the "brains" of the system, enabling the operator to monitor, control and make adjustments for application speed, rate and accuracy from inside the tractor cab.
Activation Switch

  • An activation switch turns the system on when the planter is lowered into the ground and off when raised.
Flow Meter and Distribution Manifold Assembly

  • The flow meter measures solution flow through the system. Flow information is sent to the control console which in turn controls the speed of the pump to provide for precise application rates.
  • Sight gauges on the distribution manifold allow a visual check of insecticide solution flow for each row.
  • Micro-tubes deliver insecticide to each row unit of the planter.
Spray Arm/Furrow Conditioner

  • At each row unit the micro-tube is connected to a durable, yet flexible spray arm and furrow conditioner. This combination ensures proper seed placement and application accuracy.
  • The spray arm sets the correct nozzle height for T-band applications spraying Capture insecticide on the seed and surrounding seed zone to provide an expanded area of protection.
  • The furrow conditioner maintains the integrity of the furrow "V" giving proper seed placement without firming.
Capture Solution Tank

  • Provided by the grower. This allows growers the flexibility to select the tank and mounting that is most compatible with their particular planter-tractor combination.

Winterization
Protect your Capture LFR LiquidReady system this Winter

When the weather dips down below freezing, it’s tough on any equipment, and your Capture LiquidReady system is no exception. Here are some simple ways to ensure that your system makes it through the winter undamaged – so you’ll be ready to go next planting season:

  1. Properly drain all fluids and flush the entire system with clean water.
  2. Inspect all plumbing fittings, connections, manifolds, tubing and spray tips.
  3. Check all electrical connections, wiring and switches.
  4. Refasten loose or sagging electrical and plumbing lines.
  5. Inspect and tighten all fittings and mountings that may have worked loose due to vibration during the planting process.
  6. Consider replacing worn or broken parts now, prior to off-season storage. Replacement parts and components can be ordered from your local Raven distributor or by calling Raven toll free at 866-47-RAVEN (866-477-2836).
  7. Fill the system from pump to row tubes with commercial RV antifreeze (generally pink in color and available wherever antifreeze is sold) to provide proper lubrication of vital components during the off-season and protect against damage from freezing.

Thanks again for your continued loyalty to the Capture LFR LiquidReady system. We look forward to protecting your seed investment again next planting season!
