Lindsay Webber Wins the Anthem Singing Competition

PARTICIPATION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND DECISIONS, CONSENT TO USE AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS. By submitting a Video or Entry Form to this Contest, you warrant that you have read and agree to abide by all Contest rules and that you are not prohibited from participating in the Contest. Participation in this Contest constitutes your full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor (as defined in Rule 2 below), and any of its agents, which are final, binding, and non-negotiable in all respects.

  1. CONTEST OVERVIEW: If you are eligible to participate in this Contest (see Rule 2 below) you are invited to enter this Contest by submitting all of the following components (in any order): (A) a video (the “Video”) of yourself singing the U.S. national anthem (the “Anthem”), and (B) a fully completed entry form (found at, including, if applicable, parent/guardian consent form (“Entry Form”). The Video and Entry Form (collectively referred to herein as the “Entry”) must meet the requirements set forth in Rules 4 and 5 (as applicable to the specific component covered by such Rule) below, as well as all other requirements set forth in these Official Rules, at time of entry in order to be eligible for Contest.
  2. PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY: At the time of your submission of the first component of your Entry and throughout the entire Contest Period, you must be between 13 and 21 years of age, a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or District of Columbia, and an active member of a nationally recognized agricultural related club. Further, you must directly receive, or be related to a person or entity which receives, more than 40% of your or their income through farming-related employment, including farmers, agricultural product retailers, crop consultants, agricultural product distributors, and agricultural researchers. Entrants under age 18 need the consent of their guardian which must be included with the Entry Form submission. Entrant must not be a member of any talent union and must not have a professional recording contract. Entrant must not be bound by any contract or agreement that prevents, restricts, or conflicts with his/her participation in this Contest, or that requires payment to Entrant or any third party arising out of the use of Video in any media for any purpose whatsoever. Limit one Entry per person.

    Employees of FMC Corporation (“Sponsor”), each of its parent companies, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and any other entities involved in the administration, judging or fulfillment of this Contest, as well as their immediate family members (defined as parents, spouses, children and siblings, whether biological, adopted, step or in-law) and household members (whether related or not), are not eligible.

    All decisions of the Sponsor with respect to the Contest shall be final and binding.

    By participating in this Contest, each Entrant (or his/her parent/legal guardian on behalf of such minor Entrant) agrees to the following: (1) appear in the Video; (2) Sponsor’s use of his/her performance as embodied in the Video; and (3) Grant of Rights set forth in Rule 13 of these Official Rules.
  3. CONTEST DATES/HOW TO ENTER: No purchase or fee of any kind is necessary to enter or win this Contest. Entry into the Contest begins on 3/1/2014 at 12:01:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) and ends on 6/20/2014 at 11:59:59 p.m. EDT (the “Entry Period”). Before entering, the Entrant must upload the Video to (“Contest Site”). The Entrant must submit the Video and Entry Form as instructed online and include Entrant’s full name, date of birth, street address, daytime phone number, email address and ag-related student organization. In addition, as part of the entry process, the Entrant (and his/her parent/legal guarding) must review and accept the Official Rules and Contest Site terms.

    All Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Copies of the Video may not thereafter be used by the Entrants or any third parties for any other purposes other than for in-home viewing purposes.
  4. VIDEO REQUIREMENTS: Each Video must meet the following requirements, or the Video will be disqualified:
    1. The Video must be no less than thirty (30) seconds and no more than three (3) minutes in duration.
    2. The only music that may be included in the Video is the Anthem and the Video must include the complete version of the song. Entrant must maintain the harmonic and melodic structure of the original musical composition. The Anthem must be performed in English. No parody lyrics, omission of lyrics, abbreviated version of the lyrics, or additional lyrics are allowed. Entrant may not use a third party recording of the Anthem in the Video. No other music is permitted in the Video, except for Entrants who choose to accompany themselves with a musical instrument.
    3. The Video may not include any footage from any film, stage production or other show (collectively a “Show”), and may not copy, act out, imitate, parody or use any element (including without limitation any costumes, set design or choreography) from any Show. However, Entrant may include original content, such as choreography, costumes, and set design in the Video.
    4. The only acceptable Video file formats are: MPG4, WMV, MOV and FLV files.
    5. The Video file size must be under 100 MB.
    6. The Video must be an original creation not previously published or submitted in any other competition.
    7. The Video must not contain any third party copyrighted or proprietary material (including but not limited to logos, corporate or business signs, artwork, trademarks, or music other than the Anthem) or infringe on the intellectual, property or other rights of a third party.
    8. The Video must not defame or invade the publicity or privacy rights of any person, living or dead, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or proprietary rights.
    9. The Video must not depict Sponsor negatively and must be in keeping with Sponsor’s desired image.
    10. The Video must not make reference to any products or services, including, without limitation, Sponsor’s products.
    11. The Video must not display any commercial, political, religious or other third party advertising or messaging.
    12. The Video must not contain any of the following (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion): (i) defamatory words or statements, including words or symbols that are considered offensive to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic group; (ii) any lewd or sexually explicit suggestive content; (iii) any content that promotes use of alcohol, tobacco, firearms/weapons, or any violent, unsafe or dangerous behavior, activities or situations; (iv) threats to any person, place, business or group; (v) obscene, indecent or offensive behavior, profanity or obscenity, including but not limited to nudity, pornography, violent or profane depictions; (vi) anything that would disparage or offend persons or organizations associated with Sponsor; (vii) anything which incites, encourages or depicts dangerous conduct, stunts or tricks, or behavior or acts that are unsafe, wrongful or immoral.
    13. There must be no restriction on Sponsor’s ability to use the Video as contemplated in these Official Rules, including without limitation posting the Video now or in the future on YouTube, Sponsor’s website, or other websites. Upon request of Sponsor, entrant must provide Sponsor with such written consent.
  5. POSTING OF VIDEOS: If at any time Sponsor, in its sole discretion, determines that something is posted on the Contest Site that is in violation to these rules or is otherwise objectionable, such posting will be removed and any Video associated with such posting will be disqualified.
  6. JUDGING FOR FIRST ROUND: Following the close of the Entry Period, Sponsor will screen each Entry for compliance with these Official Rules, and verify Entrant’s eligibility based on the information provided in his/her Entry. If Entries meet the requirements for this Contest (as set forth in these Official Rules), Sponsor will post such eligible Entries on Contest Site for judging.

    On or about 6/20/14, each of the entrants will be contacted by email and required to complete releases (“Release Forms”). The entrants must submit the Release Forms to Sponsor within 5 days. If an entrant does not submit the Release Form within 5 days, that entrant will be disqualified. Once the entrants have been confirmed and verified, they will be posted on the Contest Site as the “Entrants,” which will take place on or about 7/7/14 (“Entrant Posting Date”).
  7. PUBLIC ONLINE VOTING (SELECTION OF SEMI-FINALISTS): Once the entrants’ eligibility have been verified, their Videos will be posted on the Contest Site for viewing and voting by the general public to determine the Semi-Finalists for each Region. There are four (4) regions. Entrants will be placed into a region based on the state the entrant is a resident of. These regions are: East Region, South Region, Midwest Region and Western Region. Entrants can download this map to find out what region they will be entered into. Eligible voters may vote for the Video they believe has the most audience appeal (“Finalist Video”) beginning on or about 7/7/14 at 12:00:01 am EST and ending on 7/21/13 at 11:59:59 p.m. EST (the “Public Online Voting Period”). Participation in the Public Online Voting is subject to the Public Online Voting Rules set forth in Rule 9 below. On or about 7/28/14, the top five (5) videos in each region during the Public Online Voting Period will be named the “Potential Finalists.” There will be a total of twenty (20) “Potential Finalists” after the first round of public online voting. In the event of a tie in the Public Online Voting, each tying entrant will be included as a Potential Finalist.

    On or about 8/1/14, a five-member panel made up of Ag student organization representatives and music industry professionals will determine who from the Potential Finalists will be selected as the four (4) finalists who go on to the final round of public voting set forth in Rule 8 below (“Finalists”).   Finalists will be interviewed by Sponsor or its agents and filmed singing the National Anthem (“Final Round Video”). The four (4) Final Round Videos will then be posted on Contest Site for grand prize online voting for final round (“Grand Prize Online Voting”). In addition, on 8/28/14, the Final Round Videos will be rebroadcast on RFD TV. Sponsor has no liability for scheduling conflicts, programming changes or for other circumstances beyond Sponsor’s control which interfere with or preclude the RFD TV broadcast from occurring on the scheduled date and, in the event of such an act, Finalists may receive a substitution, subject to Sponsor’s discretion, in lieu of the broadcast.
  8. PUBLIC ONLINE VOTING FOR FINAL ROUND (SELECTION OF GRAND PRIZE WINNER): Eligible voters may vote on which Final Round Video they believe represents the most audience appeal beginning on 8/28/14 at 12:00:01 am EST and ending on 9/18/14 at 11:59:59 p.m. EST (the “Grand Prize Online Voting Period”). Participation in the Grand Prize Online Voting Period is subject to the Online Voting Rules set forth in Rule 9, below. The Finalist whose Final Round Video that receives the most votes during the Grand Prize Online Voting Period will be named the “Potential Grand Prize Winner” and the three (3) other Finalists will each be deemed a “Potential Runner Up Winner”. In the event of a tie in the Grand Prize Online Voting, the tie will be broken based on the tied Finalist that received the highest score in the First Round voting set forth in Rule 7 above.
  9. ONLINE VOTING RULES: Online voting is open to members of the general public (“Eligible Voters”) who visit the Contest Site ( By submitting a vote, the visitor warrants and represents that he/she agrees to the Official Rules and Sponsor’s Terms & Conditions. Limit one vote per Eligible Voter per email address per day. Eligible Voters may not vote with multiple email accounts. Votes must be submitted and received on the Contest Site during the applicable voting period. Any use of robotic, macro, automatic, programmed or like voting methods will void all such votes from that person/account. Any involvement by the participant to vote in a manner that violates these Official Rules or to utilize any other fraudulent mechanism, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, shall give Sponsor the right to disqualify the Video of such participant.
  10. PRIZES: The following prizes will be awarded to the Finalists, depending on voting conducted pursuant to section 8:
    1. GRAND PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive the following: a $10,000 check for a college scholarship.

      Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of Grand Prize: $10,000.00.
    2. RUNNERS UP PRIZES: Three (3) Runners Up will each receive the following: a $5,000.00 check for a college scholarship.

      ARV of Each Runner Up Prize: $5,000.00

      Total ARV of all Prizes: $25,000.00.

      Limit one (1) Prize per person/household. If a Prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute Prize with another prize of equal or greater value. Prize winners will be solely responsible for all federal, state and/or local taxes, and for any other fees or costs associated with the Prizes they receive, regardless of whether it, in whole or in part, is used. The Prize winners may be required to provide Sponsor with a valid social security number or tax identification number before the Prize will be awarded for tax reporting purposes. IRS 1099 forms will be issued as required by IRS regulations. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
  11. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PRIZE CLAIM REQUIREMENTS: The Potential Prize winners will be notified by email on or about 9/19/14 (the “Winner Notification”). The Winner Notification email will include a Prize Claim Packet which includes the following:(a) Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where legal, Publicity Release; and (b) a Grant of Rights form confirming Sponsor’s Grant of Rights terms set forth in Rule 14 below (collectively, “Prize Claim Forms”). All Prize Claim Forms must be completed, signed (and in the case of Affidavits of Eligibility, notarized), and returned within ten (10) days of the date the Winner Notification is sent (in the case of any minor, Prize Claim Forms must be completed by a parent or legal guardian). If Winner Notification is returned as undeliverable, if any Prize Claim Form is not properly completed, if completed Prize Claim Forms are not received within the time frame specified, if the Potential Prize Winner is determined to be ineligible, or in violation of these Official Rules, Prize will be forfeited by that Potential Prize Winner and Prize may be awarded to an alternate, time permitting. Sponsor is not responsible for any change of email address, mailing address and/or telephone number of Potential Prize Winners.
  12. MISCELLANEOUS TERMS: By entering or participating in this Contest, each Entrant agrees to comply fully with each provision in these Official Rules. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Contest and any Entrant who does not comply with these Official Rules, will be ineligible for any Prize(s) and may be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Any attempt by any Entrant or voter to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without liability, to cancel, modify, or suspend the Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest or prevent the Contest from running as originally planned, and to the extent feasible, will determine winner and award prizes among entries received prior to cancellation or modification based solely on Sponsor judging. Sponsor is not responsible for Internet, computer hardware and software, phone, and other technical errors, malfunctions, and delays. Entries which are incomplete, inaccurate, irregular, or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, are subject to disqualification as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the rights to change the Official Rules if necessary, and in the event of such change, notice will be posted on the Contest Site. Sponsor and Administrator assume no responsibility for lost or late entries or for incomplete computer transmissions or technical failures. Sponsor and Administrator reserve the right not to accept entries that are considered inappropriate for the Contest Site. Winner is subject to verification by Sponsor and Administrator, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. No participant will win a prize until and unless such participant’s eligibility has been verified and the Prize Claim Forms required of such participant have been received. The Prize Recipients will be solely responsible for any and all local, state, and federal taxes on his/her Prize.

    By entering, Entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, Entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Commonwealth of Pennsylvania without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. By entering, Entrants irrevocably consent to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
  13. GRANT OF RIGHTS: By participating or submitting an entry in this Contest, each participant (or his/her parent/legal guardian if such participant is a minor) grants to Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies the right, except where prohibited by law, but not the obligation, to use his/her name, likeness, picture, address (city and state), voice, biographical information, quotes, and performance in the Video (collectively “Participant Identification”) for advertising and promotional purposes in promoting or publicizing Sponsor, its products or services, or this Contest or future contests, without compensation unless required by law. The participants shall have no right of approval, no claim to compensation, credit or moral rights, and no other claim (including, without limitation, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity) arising out of any use, blurring, alteration, or use in composite form of such participant Identification. The rights granted under this paragraph shall extend to Sponsor, its parent, and affiliated companies with respect to all participants in the Contest, including both non-winners and winners.

    By participating and/or submitting an entry in this Contest, each participant (or, if the participant is a minor, his/her parent/legal guardian) agrees to waive any and all moral rights that he/she may have in the Video and any derivative works made there from. Each participant agrees to grant to Sponsor an everlasting, royalty-free, assignable, exclusive license to use, utilize, replicate, alter, adapt, modify, publish, broadcast, translate, produce derivative works from, distribute, present, play, sublicense and exercise all copyright and other intellectual property rights with respect to the Video in which he/she participated and his/her contribution to the Video worldwide and/or to include such Video or contribution to the Video in other works in any media now known or later created forever. Each participant agrees and grants Sponsor permission to make available and display/perform and otherwise distribute participant's name, Video in all media in perpetuity without compensation to participant or any third party. Except where legally prohibited, submission of an entry into this Contest Site constitutes permission for Sponsor to use the participant's name, photograph, likeness, voice, address (city and province/state) and testimonials, in printed, broadcast or new media, in perpetuity, in any manner they deem appropriate in connection with promoting the Sponsor, the Contest, or this Site, without further compensation.

    Sponsor and Administrator assume no responsibility for royalties or fees associated with talent performances in the entered Videos. All participants agree that they may not use the Video for any other purpose other than private in-home viewing.
  14. RELEASE/LIMITATION ON LIABILITY: By participating in the Video and/or submitting an Entry Form, each participant (and his/her parent/legal guardian if such participant is a minor) releases Sponsor, Administrator, and each of their parent, affiliates, partners, subsidiaries, and all entities associated with the development and execution of this Contest, and each of their officers, directors, agents, employees (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability with respect to and in any way arising from participating in this Contest and/or from the acceptance, possession, use or mis-use of prizes, including (without limitation) any responsibility or liability for any (a) lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure of the Contest Site, or (b) any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure or delay of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or (c) any combination thereof including, but not limited to, any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other equipment related to or resulting from entrant’s participation in the Contest. Under no circumstance will participants be permitted to obtain awards for, and participants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorney’s fees, and each participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased. Each participant agrees to indemnify the Released Parties from any third party claims arising from or related to the Video and use of the Video as contemplated herein. In the event that a participant breaches any representations, warranties or undertakings contained herein, a Released Party shall be entitled to and may seek indemnification from such participant for recovery of all legal fees, damages, claims and other expenses that may be incurred by any of the Released Parties as a result of the breach.

After the first round of online voting, the five videos with the most votes from
each of our four voting regions will advance to the judging round.

A panel of judges, including professional musicians and FFA,
4-H and NAMA representatives will judge the videos on voice and musical talent.

The four videos with the top scores will advance to the final online voting round to determine the grand prize winner.

Caylee Anna, 4-H Alumna and Singer/Song Writer

Caylee Anna was raised in Elaville, Georgia, where she was a member of 4-H Clovers and Co. She debuted on the premiere of Duets with Jennifer Nettles on ABC. Now, Caylee Anna is a recording artist and songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. She plays guitar and regularly performs in Music City.

Tom Davis, Music Producer

Director of music production at SeisMic Sound in Nashville, Tom Davis has served as the music producer for each year of the Anthem Contest show broadcasted on RFD-TV. Once again, he returns as judge and producer. Davis has worked as the audio producer of several country music awards ceremonies and television events.

Noelle Goodson, 2013 Anthem Contest winner

Noelle Goodson, the 2013 “Stand & Be Heard Anthem Singing Contest” grand prize winner will serve as a judge in this year’s contest. She was involved in FFA for five years where she has competed in soil judging and dairy foods contests, and served on the parliamentary procedure team. Goodson currently attends Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Patti LaJoye, National FFA Chorus Director

Patti LaJoye has been the National FFA Chorus Director since 1999. She taught music for 30 years and continues to direct theatrical productions as well as teach private piano, strings and voice lessons. This is her second year serving as judge in the FMC Anthem Contest.

Kenna Rathai, NAMA President

Kenna Rathai serves as associate director of the American Agricultural Editors’ Association and provides writing, media relations and strategic counsel to marketing communications firms and companies as an independent public relations professional. She also serves as the 2014 president of the National Agri-Marketing Association.

Voting Regions
