Potatoes

FMC provides a portfolio of products to protect your potato crop and enhance yield quality.

If foliar potato insects are robbing you of profits, Brigadier® insecticide is your best bet yet. It offers fast knockdown and effective protection against potato aphids, Colorado potato beetles, leafhoppers and many others with excellent residual control for prolonged protection.

Beleaf® insecticide, a new class of chemistry with a new mode of action — A-Type Potassium Channel Active, provides effective, targeted control of aphids and plant bugs. Within 30 minutes of exposure, pests begin to lose the ability to feed, which is irreversible, and they eventually starve to death. The rapid reduction in feeding dramatically reduces insect damage and disease transmission. Soft on beneficial insects and predator mites with no known cross-resistance with other insecticides, Beleaf is a valuable new component in IRM and IPM programs.

Easy-to-handle Aim® EC herbicide provides a better alternative for potato vine desiccation and late season control of Eastern Black Nightshade. Its unique mode of action allows more time for nutrients to move into the tuber, and for the tuber to release from the stolon. This extra time provides more uniform tuber size at harvest and reduces stem-end browning, which can occur if vines are killed too quickly.

Ranman® fungicide, with its unique mode of action, provides highly effective prevention of pink rot when applied in-furrow at planting, including mefenoxam-resistant pink rot. Unlike most fungicides that only control some stages of the life cycle of oomycete pathogens, Ranman is active in all stages and is the only fungicide in FRAC Group 21. Plus, Ranman is effective with late foliar applications for late blight and tuber blight.

Mustang Max® insecticide employs the newest improvements in pyrethroid technology, using active insecticidal isomers within the chemical to significantly enhance performance on root and tuber vegetables including potatoes. You'll see exceptional protection with residual control of aphids, potato leafhopper and many other insect pests.

The same excellent at-plant insect control that corn growers have trusted for years is now available to potato growers. Capture® LFR™ insecticide provides in-furrow protection of wireworms, grubs and other seedling pests, promoting better stands and higher yields from your potato crop.
