Mustang® gets rid of soybean pests quickly,
and keeps them gone. But to receive these benefits you must follow the
label directions and practices described below.
- Time Mustang to your particular pests .
Timing and frequency of applications should be based on insect
populations reaching locally determined economic thresholds. Refer to
your local Extension Pest Management Guidelines or consult with your
local retailer or crop consultant regarding field-scouting results.
- Choose the right application rate.
Mustang offers a wide range of application rates, allowing you to
tailor your insecticide to your specific situation. After all, who
knows your pest problems better than you?
Your use rate will depend on insect,
infestation, insect stage, crop stage, plant/pest relationship and
spray conditions. Contact your retailer, consultant or FMC rep for a
recommendation and see the label for use directions.
Apply by air or by ground equipment using
sufficient water to obtain full coverage of foliage (minimum of 2
gallons of finished spray per acre by air and 10 gallons per acre by
ground). The addition of one to two quarts of emulsified oil per acre
to the spray solution may improve spray deposition and insect control.
- Observe maximum limits.
Do not apply more than 0.3 pounds of active ingredient per acre per season. Do not make application less than 7 days apart.
- Follow drift management guidelines.
Careful drift management is essential. Correct pressure settings,
proper nozzle size and alignment, and attention to wind speeds will
ensure on-target application. Follow Spray Drift Management and General
Information guidelines on the label.
If you follow these simple guidelines, you will be using Mustang
appropriately and effectively. And you'll be able to keep using Mustang
as a valuable tool for protecting your fresh market and processing
vegetable crops for years to come.
