Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How effective is it?
A. University trials and independent field studies continue to demonstrate that Furadan 4 F increases yields and improves crop quality compared to organophosphate insecticides. In fact, Furadan averaged a 2.94 ton-per-acre advantage over organophosphates. Plus, Furadan 4 F provides strong residual control, so you can say good-bye to Colorado potato beetles and other threats all season long. See for yourself. Check out the Performance Data section.

Q. How does Furadan 4 F work?
A. Furadan 4 F is absorbed through the roots and into the plant's vascular system, providing protection from above-ground foliar feeding insects as well as soil insects.

Q. Why is the liquid formulation preferable to granules?
A. A liquid formulation provides many advantages: • No granule hassles, like lugging 50-pound bags, slowing down planting and exposing yourself to granule dust. • Greater application accuracy and broader coverage. • Less likelihood of exposure. Specially designed closed-system returnable U-turn containers substantially reduce the possibility of exposure during mixing and loading. • Plus, there's no on-site storage of insecticide or container disposal.

Q. How does the Custom Delivery System minimize exposure?
A. The Custom Delivery System (CDS) was designed especially for Furadan 4 F to minimize risk of exposure during handling, while promoting accuracy and performance. CDS is a closed mixing, loading and application system, so you don't have to open and pour products. Plus, it helps assure an even flow of the chemical. The result? Furadan 4 F mixed 50/50 with water — consistently — as it is applied to your field. For every row, one or two microtubes inject the insecticide into the furrow, where the chemical is taken up systemically through the roots of the plant. Effectiveness is maximized. Handling is minimized.

Q. When and how should Furadan 4 F be applied?
A.
It's up to you. At planting, band to the side or below the seed piece. After planting, apply as a band over the plant row or shank in. Or use a foliar application when Colorado potato beetles appear. For best results, irrigate as soon as possible after treatment to help get the chemical into the root zone. As with any restricted use pesticide, Furadan 4 F can only be applied by certified applicators or persons under their direct supervision. Always read and follow label directions.
