Aim gets rid of sorghum weeds quickly, and
keeps them gone. But these benefits don't come without responsibility.
In addition to the label requirements, there are a few key management
practices to keep in mind when you use Aim herbicide.
- Time your application properly.
- For field bindweed and other preplant weeds, Aim can be used as a burndown.
- As a postemergence herbicide, Aim can be sprayed up to the six-leaf
stage. Maximum effectiveness can be achieved in the four- to six-leaf
stages.
- Weeds are most susceptible when four inches or less, with the exception of velvetleaf.
- Do not spray wet foliage or spray in rain.
- Good coverage and drift management is essential to any pesticide application.
- Apply by air or by ground equipment using sufficient water to
obtain full coverage of foliage (minimum of three gallons of finished
spray per acre by air and 10 gallons finished spray per acre by ground).
- For ground application, use flat fan spray tips and spray pressures of 20-50 psi. Do not use flood or Raindrop® tips.
- Ensure that in-line strainer and nozzle screens are no finer than 50 mesh
- Select appropriate additives and tank-mix partners.
- Always use a non-ionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v.
- We recommend against using crop oil. Crop oil may be used only with drop nozzles.
- For maximum effectiveness against cocklebur, sunflowers, &
waterhemp, tank mix with Banvel®, 2,4D-Amine, Peak®, Permit®, Laddock®
or atrazine. Be sure to observe the crop height restrictions for the
tank mix partner.
- Observe maximum limits.
Do not apply more than 1 fl. oz. of active ingredient per acre per season.
- Follow drift management guidelines.
Careful drift management is essential.
Correct pressure settings, proper nozzle size and alignment, and
attention to wind speeds will ensure on-target application. Follow
Spray Drift Management and General Information guidelines on the label
